Louisiana Creole Heritage Center

The mission of the Creole Heritage Center is to promote, foster and engage in activities and
endeavors that relate to Louisiana Creoles and their culture.  It serves as an office of
support to Louisiana and national Creole communities and organizations, offering advice
and assistance in matter that affect Creoles.

Margaret Media, Inc.

Margaret Media, Inc. is a gateway to Louisiana's colorful history with books on Creoles, their
culture, language and CDs of their music, women's history, Mississippi River lore, and
articles on Mexican-Louisiana Creoles, and Katrina hurricane and flood survival.
They are actively seeking manuscripts on the above topics for publication. See their

Louisiana Folklife Center - Northwestern State University

The primary goal of the regional program is to provide in-depth documentation of
Louisiana's folk traditions and to facilitate their appropriate use by the public and cultural
tourism.

Louisiana Creole Research Association (LA Creole)

Its purpose is to assist Creoles of Color in researching their ancestry, to educate the
general public about Creole culture, and to celebrate the contributions and legacy of a
unique, sometimes forgotten people.
Cane River Colony

Its purpose is to preserve the rich heritage of Louisiana Creoles, provide links to
genealogical research resources, promote Creole history, promote Black history, enable
descendants across the country to communicate and share information,  and promote the
businesses and services offered by descendants.
NOGDCR (NEW ORLEANS GENS DE COULEUR RESEARCHERS)

The Gens de Couleur Libres (the Free People of Color) of New Orleans have a rich and
wonderful history.  Those researching Creole lineage and Culture in New Orleans are invited
to join.  This is a moderated group.
French Creoles

This web site's objective is to open the doors to an understanding of Americans' " first and
only " home brewed nationality and to show others what we and our culture are all about.  It
is also an excellent source of Louisiana history, resources, and much, much more.
Mixed Heritage Center

This is a new website.  Its founder is a board member with the Mavin Foundation, a Seattle
based non-profit that serves the mixed heritage community.  This website is an online
clearinghouse of information and resources related to the mixed heritage experience.
